FemiScan Protocol
First visit
- Assessment whether the patient knows how to contract the pelvic muscle correctly and effectively
- The computer is connected to the Home Trainer via a USB cable interface and the FemiScan software is enabled
- The patient is guided to contract the pelvic muscles
- Then the patient is guided how to contract correctly
- The patient is guided to contract the pelvic muscles
- The difference in contractions is evaluated
- EMG measurement of pelvic floor muscular tone is done using the FemiScan software and the FemiScan Home Trainer. EMG maximum response measurement is obtained when the software guides the patient to contract her pelvic muslces. The maximum response is an EMG measurement separately for the left and right muscle defined by the developers of the FemiScan Pelivc Therapy System
- The patient practices the designed training program according to the protocol. The FemiScan Home Trainer is programed with the training program. Once programmed, the FemiScan Home Trainer becomes an independent unit that functions as an EMG Electromyograph and a training unit when the patient is at home
FemiScan home training
- At home, the patient connects the device to wired headphones with a special connector and places it in the vagina. The voice generated by the computer directs and evaluates the intensity of the contractions. The patient is first advised to relax and then is advised to contract and relax according to the training program
- FemiScan Home Training device provides the patient instruction and feedback on the intensity of each contraction in relation to the objectives of the training program. When the patient's contraction reaches 100% of the target, she hears "Good". At 125%"Great" and over 150% "Excellent
- The device records the result of each maximum contraction, including the date of the session
The following visits
- Every 2-4 weeks, when he patient returns to the clinic, the FemiScan Home Trainer device is connected to the USB interface with the computer. All patient sessions are downloaded to the PC software database and the physician assesses how many times the patient has practiced and how she practiced during the 2-4 weeks.
- The home training results are stored, and EMG curves and EMG results can be viewed on the FemiScan software. The total results and individual results of each contraction are presented separately for the left and right muscles. The doctor and the patient are able to see on the computer screen the increase in the muscular tone of the pelvic floor. The home trainer is programmed with the subsequent program.
Last visit
- All patient sessions are downloaded to the PC software database and the physician assesses how many times the patient has practiced and how she practiced during the 2 weeks.
- Evaluation the development of the pelvic muscle tone from the first measurement to the last measurement.
- Practice the recommended maintenance program.
